Classic Baked Potato with Butter and Chive

This classic baked potato recipe is crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly topped with melted butter, fresh chives, salt, and black pepper. It’s an easy, comforting side dish or light meal that never goes out of style.

Ingredients

4 large russet potatoes

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)

½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Wash the potatoes thoroughly and pat them dry. Use a fork to pierce each potato several times to allow steam to escape while baking.

Step 2: Season

Rub each potato with olive oil and sprinkle evenly with sea salt.

Step 3: Bake

Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking tray.
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and a fork easily pierces the center.
